Orinoco Tobacco harvest has wrapped up! While many in our region know tobacco was a major cash crop in colonial Maryland and might see aging tobacco barns on their daily commutes, fewer understand how the sacred plant’s exploitation forever changed the Southern Maryland landscape. There is no fee for members of the Indigenous community; please contact outreach@accokeek.org for a discount code.#NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #piscatawaypeople #NativeAmericanHeritage #IndigenousHeritage ...
